What will I be studying?

There are four units to be studied:

1 Creative activities in Health and Social Care – This unit looks at different types of creative activities that are available to individuals in health, social care and early years settings.

2 Essential Values Of Care – This unit looks at the laws and rules that staff must follow to make sure that they provide the bestcare for service users, including confidentiality and equality.

3 Understanding Life Stages – This looks at how children, adolescents, adults and older adults develop through their lives. It also looks at genetic and non-genetic illnesses and how people can be supported.

4 Communication – this looks at different types of communication and the importance of effective communication for both staff and service users.

What can I do afterwards?

Students who study this course often continue to study health and social care at college, get an apprenticeship or go on to university. Potential jobs include: midwife, doctor, youth worker, social worker, nurse, teacher, child-minder, teaching assistant, nursery worker
