What will I be studying?
This is a practical subject where you will learn new skills in food preparation.
This structure has been designed to develop knowledge and understanding related to a range of hospitality and catering providers, how they operate and what they have to take into account to be successful.
Following the course, you will understand ingredients and their functions in the body and when included in recipes. Develop some food preparation and cooking skills as well as transferable skills of problem-solving, organisation and time management, planning and communication. Learn about issues related to nutrition and food safety and how they affect successful hospitality and catering operations.
What can I do afterwards?
There are good opportunities in many different fields of work and higher education such as: hospitality and catering; food technologist; food manufacturing; food scientists and microbiologists; teaching; food retail; or food photography and journalism.
Y9 students were invited to breakfast today. They all had an excellent year and are great role models! Miss Robins enjoyed hearing about career aspirations: dentist, lawyer, journalist, actor, teacher(we hope at #TeamGraham!), B&B proprietor and plans to go to university! 🥐👏🤩 pic.twitter.com/6TGx…
